Agile Kitchen: Extreme Programming – the knowledge we lost

What does it really mean to build software that can adapt and evolve?

During this Agile Kitchen session, Jan Van Ryswyck took participants on a journey through the origins of Extreme Programming (XP) and explored why its core practices remain as relevant today as ever. From pair programming and test-driven development to refactoring and continuous integration, the session highlighted how technical excellence forms the foundation of true agility.

Together, we reflected on how many development teams have gradually moved away from these practices and discussed the impact this has on software quality, maintainability, and adaptability.
